The game has 88% positive reviews on Steam, so this one is going to be an exception. The title sparked my interest with the pleasant color scheme, cute visuals, beautifully composed soundtrack, as well as a tragic story based around the widely-known "butterfly effect." It's hard to deny that there is a kind of unique atmosphere here, yet the gameplay and that ending outweigh all of the positives listed above.
You can't skip anything in this game. Quite literally: the intro, the cutscenes, all of the animated interactions, the credits – none of that is skippable! Coupled with the need to replay certain segments over and over again, you'll have no choice but to view the same routines play out, on average, around 5-10 times. Let's go even further and add an aggravating ringing sound after each and every minute repeated action. I imagine you would have to be a person of incredible patience to unlock every achievement.
Looking back, you realize that the game's characters were quite shallow. I can confirm that only one of them – the lady wearing a hat – evoked any degree of sympathy. The ending, too, inspires nothing but sadness and the feeling of hopelessness.
Final score: 4 ever-ringing bells out of 10.
