Murdered: Soul Suspect is a highly atmospheric game with decent graphics, good voice acting, and a mystery plotline that remains captivating until the very end 🔍 The story unfolds in the town of Salem, the site of the infamous witch trials. The player takes control of Ronan O'Connor, a police detective with a murky past, tasked with untangling a streak of homicides committed by the notorious Bell Killer. Upon receiving a tip-off on the criminal's whereabouts, the protagonist rushes to the scene without waiting for backup which ultimately costs him his life... Now, in addition to putting an end to the Bell Killer's rampage, Ronan will have to investigate his own murder. The game has a way of capturing the player's attention from the very start – indeed, very few stories start with the hero's death! Despite the generally linear narrative, the great number of restless spirits encountered by the player will offer a variety of optional side quests, perfectly complementing the main campaign 👍🏻 Full disclosure: I am one of those atypically empathic people who sometimes revert to a previous save if a hastily selected dialogue option has somehow offended a minor NPC😅. Here, however, I can't honestly say that I have developed any sort of emotional attachment to the main character. Clues regarding his past, scarcely scattered throughout the city, didn't resonate with me on any meaningful level. What is cool are Ronan's spectral abilities: he can phase through unconsecrated walls (which often leads to disorientation inside buildings with lots of narrow corridors), interact with certain physical objects (which the living only ever notice if it's required to progress in the current quest), teleport, read minds, as well as possess people or even compel them towards certain conclusions. Oh, you can also control cats and meow the song of your people as you joyfully prance about the city! 🐈 I had an issue with the way the game handles evidence matching as it does nothing to penalize the player for making the wrong call. Might as well mindlessly click at every curiosity you see until you just happen to randomly hit the right combination of items needed to solve the puzzle, which is a strange choice for a title of this genre. Your only enemies in Murdered: Soul Suspect will be demons and they can't do much besides annoying the player. Dealing with them is, frankly, boring and the button prompt doesn't always work, often forcing you to play hide and seek with an upset fiend for 5 minutes straight 😖 P.S.: Half the computers in the local precinct seem to be running Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Gee, no wonder a poltergeist had to get his ghostly hands dirty to finally put the Bell Killer behind bars! Final score: 7 joyfully prancing kittens out of 10🐾 #crime #mystery #murderedsoulsuspect #murdered #ghost #sqaureenix #обзор #девушкагеймер #геймерша #gamer #gamergirl #review
