I was always really into strategy games. Even though my brain is arguably underequipped to deal with nuanced interfaces, master complex control schemes, and lead my selected faction to ultimate victory, I still get a lot of enjoyment from the general gameplay as well as my own modest achievements on the battlefield.
That is why I still make repeated attempts at beating Crusader Kings 3, regardless of the fact that only one of my dynasties ever survived beyond the first three generations before it too got utterly annihilated by the Holy Roman Empire. The game is a witty and cruel medieval monarch simulator that will put your strategic skills to the test as you decide whom your royal offsprings should marry, graciously maneuvering between your vassal's mutually exclusive interests, aiming to leave your heir a sovereign nation instead of scattered remains regularly plundered by local princelings.
I think that on the next playthrough, I'm going to assume the mantle of the Holy Roman Emperor, start a free-for-all war, lose, and watch the Empire crumble. This way I can save on therapy and get sweet revenge on my old dynasty's vanquisher in one fell swoop!
